All Glories to the Lotus-eyed Lord Who with a compassionate cosmic-like heart destroys the Ravan in the from of Lust, Anger, Greed, Envy, Ego, Insecurity in our hearts. Let's welcome the Supreme Protector into our hearts, and make it the Abode of Happiness.
I was initially going for the scene where the Ultimate Archer Lord ShriRama and the Demon-king Ravan were in face-to-face combat. Since I wanted to finish it within time, by Dusshera at least and while drawing I decided I spend more time in just illustrating Lord ShriRama, drawing more details in His Form. He actually has a mark on the upper-right part of His Chest that marks His Big compassionate heart, and I decided to give it a cosmic feel, showing that His heart is magnanimous like the cosmos, illustrating a galaxy. The same goes for His Lotus Feet. However I drew it only on His right foot, whereas the left one has symbols and insignias. Lord ShriRama and other Avatars have natural divine symbols on Their Feet and Palms, that hint at Their divine behaviour.
I also wanted to give the whole composition (the bow, arrow, decorative lines on the Body and around, etc) a magical, divine, fantastical look, that reflects the blissful mood when one sees the good being victorious over the evil. How ecstatic the people must have felt that day witnessing the demon king finally being destroyed for good by the Lord Himself! And indeed was it a spectacle. A Divine Spectacle that happened only once in history. If you're interested to know how it all happened, do read the Historical Epic Ramayana!
