The Times of Amma | Customised Newspaper

For one of our classes, we had to pick a person as our subject of study. We had to study the person's routine and personality. As this was a film class, we were taught to first observe all what the person does and make good notes and it can be in any form. Then, as our final submission we could make anything that reflected the personality of the person. My subject of study was my mother and I have had many kinds of conversations over time and during the research period, for this class. I recorded audios, took pictures of her routine on that particular day, and brought all the information together, presenting it as a newspaper. My mother daily reads the newspaper (The newspaper's titled "The Times of India") and ends reading it with laughing over the jokes of Calvin and Hobbes. I decided to make something like that too. In our language, we address mothers as "Amma" and that's the title of this newspaper. Amma's life has been a wild rollercoaster ride... yet, also colourful like a huge bouquet of variety of flowers! Read on knowing how a simple girl from the small town of Visakhapatnam (Vizag) goes to study at NIFT Delhi and learns valuable lessons in her journey. Enjoy reading the newspaper!
